If the R.F. is really just a peace keeping force whose mission is to stop the fighting in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions then conceivably if forces were at the edge of those lines an end to the fighting could occur. A truce and negations for peace could begin. I think the region should be an enclave that allows both Ukrainians and Russians to live in the same region. So long as Ukrainians are not discriminated against there should be no issue. To see of Russians and Ukrainians can live in peace together.
I think the commander on the field would be willing to negotiate as so many of his predecessors have died in this fight. So I believe a truce may be possible.
