Starting in 1922, the Our Gang shorts (also known as The Little Rascals) were an iconic part of the early days of film. One of the many child stars of the series was Billy Laughlin, who played the raspy-voiced Froggy. Laughlin made his first appearance in 1940, and while the series only lasted a few more years after that, he still managed to make a name for himself. Sadly, Laughlin wasn’t able to make a career out of acting once the shorts ended, though, which was just one sad fact of his life. From the horrible bullying he faced in school to his tragic death at a young age, let’s take a look at some heartbreaking details about Billy Laughlin, who played Froggy on The Little Rascals. #LittleRascals #Details #Star Our Gang | 0:00 The Little Rascal | 1:10 The New Pupil | 1:52 End of an era | 3:01 Tragedy strikes the Gang | 4:12 Read Full Article: 🤍

Waldo's Last Stand is a 1940 Our Gang short comedy film directed by Edward Cahn. The gang offers to help Waldo attract customers to his lemonade stand. Redecorating their barn as a lavish nightclub, the kids stage an elaborate floor show, with Darla as the star vocalist. Unfortunately, their efforts attract only one patron—a surly, stone-faced kid named Froggy.[1] Spanky and the others try to persuade Froggy into buying a drink, even going as far as singing an impromptu song about dryness and thirst, but to no avail. The kids then come up with an idea: to put a heater under Froggy which would heat him up and force him to buy a drink. When Spanky asks Froggy why he would not buy a drink, Froggy responds that he does not have any money and that it is too hot in the barn. 🤍 Little Rascals/Our Gang playlist 🤍

The Sad Strange Story Of Little Rascals Billy “Froggy” Laughlin. The mini true story of Billy “Froggy” Laughlin. Do you remember the character Froggy in the famous movie Our Gang? Froggy is played by Billy Laughlin, a special boy with blonde hair and glasses. His distinctive feature was a croaking voice reminiscent of Popeye on Helium. Billy was born in San Gabriel, California on July 5, 1932. However, he was born with a disability; his eyes were crossed, and he needed to wear powerful, thick spectacles to view his classmates and teachers. Billy's childhood was haunted by the ridicule of his friends. That made him very timid and self-deprecating. His mother enrolled him in acting classes at a young age with the goal of instilling confidence in him. This video is made by us by synthesizing information and images freely found on the internet. Subscribe here: 🤍 Or, watch more videos here: 🤍 The original cast of the show appeared on the series titled “Our Gang” and ran until the mid 1940s. The original little rascals found their way into the film industry at ages ranging from about 1 to 5 years old. Many of the stars outgrew the series due to their age; eventually opting to live somewhat normal lives outside of fame. Now that the show is coming up on its 100-year anniversary, many of the stars have passed away. One actor of the original cast is still alive today, living a much different life than most would imagine. To find out what happened to Robert Blake, watch this video until the very end! The “Our Gang” television series aired in the early 1920s, making it one of the first long-standing television shows to ever exist. Unknown at the time, the Little Rascals series would become one of the biggest and most influential TV shows of all time. To this day, members of the cast are referenced in TV shows and movies. Production studios all across America have marketed the show and created remakes and spinoffs. The show had a unique premise at the time of its release. Starring an entire cast of child actors, the show was thought to be a flop. Surprisingly, many fans found comfort in watching the gang if children grow up together on screen. The show promoted real-life stories and childhood struggles. The “Our Gang” series became known for its progressive action to feature black and white children playing together. The bold move had never been taken in the past, and many of the creators thought it would mean the show’s demise. Surprisingly enough, fans enjoyed the show even more. Let’s take a look at how each of the Little Rascals cast and Our Gang cast members died! How Each Little Rascals Cast Member Died (Our Gang)

"I'm gonna take this right foot, and I'm gonna whop you on that side of your face..." I heard that line when I re-watched "Billy Jack" scenes the other day. Tom Laughlin stars as Billy Jack in this 1971 classic movie that showcases Hapkido techniques. He battles racists, bigots and rapists in a scary, slow-moving America. I find it fascinating how direct the racism and sexism are, and how Billy Jack's now-iconic reactions are still intense, especially when compared to the jacked-up superheroes and bad asses in today's shows, such as those in "Marvel's Daredevil" and "The Raid: Redemption." Billy Jack's slow, deliberate, "There's not a damn thing you're gonna be able to do about it," is still cheeky and powerful after nearly 45 years.

Watching promising young actors grow into troubled adults is sadly not uncommon in Hollywood, with many beloved actors and musicians succumbing to the difficult realities of growing up in the public eye. Even more tragic, however, are the young stars whose lives are taken before they have a chance to transition out of their "child star" phase. Who knows what these kids could have accomplished had their lives not been cut tragically short? While these young people left an undeniable mark on pop culture, it's heartbreaking that their devoted fans never got a chance to see them grow up. In 1992, I was a producer for the PBS show: "The 90's" This was an Emmy Award winning production know as a kind of funky 60 minutes. During the Presidential race for that year, Tom Laughlin had thrown his hat into the race. I had been assigned the task to interview Mr. Laughlin for our next national broadcast show entitled "The American Way". I had been a long time fan of the "Billy Jack" movies since I was a kid, but did not know what to expect when I finally met this amazing man face to face. It has been many years since this interview when I met Tom and became friends with him. Because of the recent tribute to him on this years Oscars, I have decided to offer to his fans and friends, this un-edited 1 hour and 30minute interview that has never before been seen in it's entirety. Please note, that because this is a raw footage tape of a free running video camera, there are some brief audio buzzing issues in the beginning.
