Updating crystal lamps

I bought some eggshell colored wrapping paper that had a sparkle design on it.

I tore the paper into small pieces and decoupaged the torn pieces to the globe.

I love the look of these lamps but they are too heavy looking for my modern rustic, cottage decor. My home is cream and white with lots natural elements.

A chandelier isn't just a decorative accessory or a real estate investment, it's the focal point in a dining room or entryway that welcomes visitors into your home.

If the prisms are weathered, dingy, broken or plastic, discard them.

If the prisms are shiny, translucent or valuable, keep them for another home project.

Also all the ceiling fixtures I've seen are not for vanities.

Have you seen any pretty fixtures that hang this way? (06/08/2007) By Heather Suggestion; replace the electric cord. I have thought of covering different things with paper or cloth in the past, but have never gotten around to it.

Personally, I think lamps are so over priced to begin with.Select a spray paint that coordinates with your room decor.Modern spray paint colors include brushed metal, chocolate brown, turquoise, tan marble and aluminum.I turned on the base light and it added to the decoupage effect.Decoupage glue can be purchased at any craft store.
